Finally Returned my Bag

For Christmas, I got this beautiful purse from Urban Outfitters. It really did seem perfect for me. I was so excited! What do you know, the first day I use it, it breaks. The darn chain strap would not stay on. I was so u[set! After all, I just got the darn purse! My sister's bag that she got just happened to also be broken so we returned them. They came in the mail about 3 weeks later and I was super excited to use it again. I mean, the bag is really cute. The colors, size, everything was just so good for me! So I put all of my stuff in it and brought it to school again. You wouldn't think that it would happen again but it did. The bag's chain (the same chain) broke again. I was mad. That just shows that although Urban's items may be very cute, they are crappy quality. So earlier, my mom, sister, and myself went out to Victoria Gardens to return the purse. They ended up having cute stuff but you could just tell that the same thing would most likely happen, something would break. So I just got my money back and went to this cute store, Fransesca's. I found this BEAUTIFUL purse! This one is even better then the last! I love the color, the size, the texture, the interior, everything!!! I like to consider it an early birthday gift from my mom and dad. :) Basically, I'm in a good mood because I got some pretty amazing stuff. Good night!

Earth Unrecognizable?

According to the scientists at the American Association for the Advancement of Science, by 2050 our planet will be unrecognizable. Whether it be from competition of scarce resources or global warming, we won't know what hit us. For Earth to be able to handle a population of 9 billion, "we will need to produce as much food in the next 40 years as we have in the last 8,000," said Jason Clay of the World Wildlife Fund. Clay reports that as people make more money, they tend to eat more meat. Then with incomes expected to triple, we can only imagine how much more meat will be consumed.

Mosque controversy debate
Today was our class debate about the mosque controversy. I immediately took the side for building the mosque center. What is a place of hope and worship possibly going to hurt? We as people have no right to tell anyone that they can't worship wherever they want. I understand that they could move it away from ground zero out of respect for the lost lives, but they are not obligated to. The people wanting to build the center have absolutely nothing to do with the 9/11 attackers. The only thing they have in common is their religious views. I share the same religious views as the guy who interrupts soldiers funerals but you won't see people having a fit about me stepping near a cemetery. In all honesty, it felt as if people were basing their views against the mosque center out of pure ignorance. People don't spend enough time researching so they just go along with whatever the majority goes with. I really thought that this discussion, or should I say debate, was very riveting. I like debates more than discussions, they're more fun! Our class period was very fun and I enjoyed learning about the topic.

Mid Winter!!

Last night was so much fun! I can't believe this was only my first dance. I started getting ready around two because my date came over at four for pictures. It took such a long time to get ready. I had "glam squad" aka my mom and sister, doing my hair and make up. It looked amazing. They really did such a great job! Then my lovely date, Isaac, came over and we took pictures for an hour. We took over 200 pictures! It was fun but editing all of those wasn't the best. :p Then we hung out around my house and my sister and mom surprised us with a nice date set up for our dinner. We thought we were going to eat beef stew with my family but nope! They set up candles and rose petals. It was beautiful. We then go to the dance at about 8:30 and stood in line with some friends. We got in the dance about 9 and danced the whole night. We said hi to friends and took a few more pictures. I am not normally a dancer but I was really enjoying myself last night. Some people at our school though.. there are some very inappropriate dancers. I laughed at them because they are stupid. We enjoyed our night together and it was really a night I won't forget. <3

Human Shield Protects Egypt's Museum

Human Shield

On Monday, many citizens in Cairo surrounded Egypt's museums to protect them from thieves. Vandals broke in a few nights before and caused some damage. They broke a King Tut statue and robbed most of the jewlery in the gift shop. Luckily, the damages are fixable. The country's police eventually came and took over for the citizens.
